Meet our amazing team of creative minds and makers!

Debbie Chapman

Working many years for AT&T, Sprint and Staples, I recently retired from corporate life, and opened Craft Boutique of Grand Lake. It has been a vision for many years and I am excited to have this opportunity in my favorite lake town. Originally from Kansas City, I have been visiting Grove since childhood and I knew I would live here in retirement. I have been married to my best friend, John, for over 30 years. We've lived in Tampa, Florida, Columbia, South Carolina, and headed back to the Midwest when I became homesick. We have two grown children, Shawn and Megan. We enjoy lake life including boating, kayaking, fishing and hanging out with our friends and family.

Anita Hayes

Anita is originally from Lincoln, Arkansas and after many years in Siloam Springs, she currently lives in Grove. She is the youngest of 5 and was raised keeping up with her older brothers and all of their shenanigans. Anita studied early childhood education and currently works in the office of Grove Public Schools. Anita has a daughter and three grandchildren; 8 year old Princess Annleigh, and Canyon and River, the 6 year old “twinados.” Anita and her husband Jerry enjoy lake life including boating and their rowdy friends. Jax, their Yorkie is never far behind. Anita is the creative inspiration behind a lot of things at the Craft Boutique. She will be teaching classes in furniture restoration, beginning sewing, classes for kids, and many other things.

Karen Gross

My love of all things crafting began at an early age when I started using my allowance to buy crayons, paper, scissors and glue. It continued when my grandmother taught me to crochet at nine years old. I earned degrees in Business Administration and Elementary Education, and taught first and second grade for several years.  I helped manage a 2500 cow dairy in Minnesota. I am now administrative assistant for Simply the Best Towing and Recovery in Miami, and so enjoy it! And now I am blessed to be part of this amazing adventure with Craft Boutique of Grand Lake, and thrilled is an understatement! Family, friends, my four fun-loving fur babies, gardening and of course crafting, all not only nourish my soul but put happy in my heart!

Susan Bennett

The newest member of our team, Susan lives in Jay with her hubbins Stan. She has 4 kids and a boatload of grandkids. Susan visits our shop so much we decided to put her to work, so she now helps customers, and always keeps us in a good mood! This gal can finish a diamond painting like nobody's business, and can crochet and knit just about anything.

Amber Harrison

Amber Harrison was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where she learned to knit at a very young age from her Grandma Iris. Amber completed her undergraduate degree in Art Education at Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska, where she also earned her endorsement for teaching English as a Second Language. Amber has traveled and lived in many countries, including parts of Europe, Asia, Australia and South America. After many years of being a teacher, Amber furthered her education and received her Masters in Special Education from New Mexico Highlands University. She now lives and teaches high school English Language Arts in Oklahoma. When she isn’t teaching or knitting, you can find Amber and her two sons going on adventures together.
